Gray Perpetual Charitable Trust, gifted $14,000 from the trust to the Pike County Animal Spay and Neuter Program. This program provides certificates to residents who need assistance with spay and neutering an animal.

There are many benefits to spaying or neutering your pet. In addition to being a critical element in sustaining animal populations that have exceeded the capacity the local community can adequately care for, spaying or neutering your pet can also protect them against certain illnesses, address unwanted behaviors, save money, and increase the lifespan of your pet significantly.

The Spay & Neuter Certificates are $50 for a female and $40 for a male. The average cost of a spay or neuter in Pike County is $185.00. If you choose to adopt a pet from the Pike County Animal Shelter, the service is included in the adoption process.
